For hundreds of thousands of people whose homes and livelihoods have been destroyed by Super Typhoon Rai, international action and aid is crucial.
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) has launched an Emergency appeal for 20 million swiss francs to fund immediate assistance and long-term recovery operations for an estimated 400,000 individuals affected by the typhoon.
Typhoon Rai blasted into the eastern Philippines on Thursday, 16th of December, wreaking havoc on islands and coastal communities and leaving a trail of destruction in its wake, flooding towns and cities across the nation.
