STORYLINE:
From El Salvador to Ghana, former heads of state made their way to Texas on Thursday to lionise George W. Bush, the US leader they served alongside on the world stage from 2000-2008.
Among the foreign leaders who travelled to the opening of the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum were former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.
All five living US presidents gathered together in Dallas, putting politics aside as the 43rd U.S. president dedicated the library that documents his place in history.
President Barack Obama praised his predecessor's strength and resolve after September 11, calling Bush a "good man" who faced the storm head on.
"To know the man is to like the man. Because he's comfortable in his own skin, he knows who he is, he doesn't put on any pretenses. He takes his job seriously but he doesn't take himself too seriously. He is a good man," Obama said.
