As parents think about the start of the school year, many parents are worried that the pandemic will interfere with their kids’ education, making it difficult or impossible to send them back to school. Dr. Ashish Jha, director of the Harvard Global Health Institute, said it will take the whole community working to curb the spread of the virus to reach a point where kids can safely return. Jha spoke with PBS NewsHour’s William Brangham on July 9 to answer viewer questions about the latest information related to the coronavirus, especially as many states start reopening, despite rising case counts.
