Learn how to make Sabudana Dahi vada (फलाहारी दही वड़ा) at home from Manisha Raghani. These Dahi Vadas or Dahi Bhallas taste equally good and delicious like the traditional ones and are perfect for Vrat or Fasting days. The Sabudana adds a lovely texture to them.
An absolutely drool worthy Fasting Snack.

Ingredients:
FOR SABUDANA VADA PREPARATION :
1 bowl of sabudana
Water to soak the sabudana
2 boiled potatoes
1 tsp white sesame seeds /til
½ bowl of roasted peanuts
½ tsp finely chopped green chilli
1 tsp lemon juice
½ bowl finely chopped coriander and mint leaves
Salt as per taste (use Himalayan rock salt )
½ tsp red chilli powder
Ghee to grease your palm.
Oil to fry the vadas
FOR SABUDANA DAHI VADA PREPARATION:
Sabudana vadas
1 Bowl of curd
2 Tsp Powdered Sugar
Salt as per taste ( Himalayan Rock Salt )
Cumin powder
Red chilli powder
Meethi chutney (jaggery-tamarind chutney)

Pomegranate
Coriander leaves (to garnish )
sabudana dahi vada recipe | how to make sabudana dahi vada / vrat special dahi bhalle
• साबूदाना वड़ा रेसिपी / साबूदाना के दही वड़ा / नवरात्रि वाले दही वड़ा
METHOD :
Preparing Sabudana Vada Masala or mixture :
a) Take 1 bowl of sabudana. Wash 3-4 times nicely with water to remove the starch. Soak with enough water for 3-4 hours.
b) Drain off the water and keep it for rest for 30 minutes, allowing to drain off the water completely.
c) now take the soaked sabudana in a large bowl. Mash the sabudana well with hands .
d) To this add 2 boiled potatoes.Mash the potatoes as well along with the mashed sabudana.
e) To this add ½ bowl of roasted peanuts.(crushed), sesame seeds, finely chopped green chilli, lemon juice, finely chopped coriander and mint leaves , salt according to taste, red chilli powder. mix all the ingredients well with your hands.
Sabudana Vada mixture is ready.
f) Now grease your palm with ghee. Take small portion of the mixture. Press gently with your hands. Give it a round shape in the form of a cutlet.
g) Repeat the process to prepare all the cutlets with the mixture.
Frying the sabudana vadas :
a) Take a pan and heat some oil in it to fry the vadas. Gently slide 2 to 3 sabudana vadas to hot oil.
b) Fry the vadas on medium flame. Do not touch them or disturb them until they firm up and become golden. Otherwise they may break. Deep fry them in batches of 2 to 3 on medium heat.
c) Place the vadas in a plate covered with tissue paper in order to soak the excess oil.
Crispy sabudana vadas are ready.
Preparing the Sabudana Dahi Vada / How to make sabudana dahi vada / Upvas ke dahi bhalle :
a) Take 1 bowl of curd. To this add powdered sugar and Himalayan rock salt. Whisk the curd well.
b) In a dish place the sabudana vadas. To this add the whisked curd. Fill it well with curd so that the vadas get dipped properly in the whisked curd.
c) Add jeera powder, red chilli powder, meethi chutney (jaggery-tamarind chutney), vrat wali green chutney (check recipe link below), pomegranate.
d) Finally garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Sabudana dahi vada or vrat dahi vada is ready to eat.
