This is probably the closest I felt to drowning while spearfishing. Shooting a fish deep and then getting dragged down while swimming up is a recipe for disaster when freediving. But we still pulled off one epic spearfishing catch and cook episode!

With many shark encounters and many dives it's only a matter of time before you experience some sort of spearfishing accident. I was never too worried I would actually die from drowning because I had a good spearfishing buddy watching my back incase I would blackout.

Let's avoid any Florida drowning episodes here on the South Florida Fishing Channel and keep on putting out more catch and cook episodes. Hope you stick around for the black grouper at the end of the episode
