The movie is set in the backdrop of a village in Kanyakumari district. Surendran is employed in a garment shop and falls in love with Chilanga. Even their parents are aware of their love. When everyone is expecting the lovebirds to get married, things take a drastic turn and he is forced to marry a different girl and they beget a child. To make the situation worse, when he goes out of his village for an official work, his mother and wife die in Tsunami and child goes missing. What happens next is the rest of the movie.
