She presented with hoarseness of voice & frequent cold cough allergy since last 2 years . She also gives history of voice misuse or shouting or prolong high volume talks .
Endoscopy show Vocal Polpy arising from Right vocal cord .

Vocal Polpy :
It is due to vocal abuse or misuse. Other contributing factors are allergy and smoking.
Common in men in the age group of 30-50.
Mostly , a vocal polyp is unilateral arising from the same position as vocal nodule. It is soft, smooth and often pedunculated.
Hoarseness is a common symptom. Large polyp may cause difficulty in breathing.
Vocal polyp is caused by sudden shouting resulting in haemorrhage in the vocal cord and subsequent submucosal oedema.
Treatment is surgical excision under operating microscope or endoscopic excision by micro-laryngeal forcep or Laser excision followed by speech therapy .
