Components that can ‘fail’ based on user-specified criteria have been added to #blastFoam. Once the criteria is exceeded, the obstruction is removed (entire component, or per-cell for partial failures).
Some really important functionality here with lots of utility, especially for #security, #engineering, and #protective design where airblast ingress through failing #windows and #facades is of interest.
blastFoam is an open-source solver for multi-component compressible flow, based on the five-equation model, with application to high-explosive detonation, explosive safety and airblast. The solver has been validated through the use of experimental data from laboratory, scaled, and full-scale tests. Recent work has focused on validation for engineering-scale problems, and near-contact settings.
