In the world of sounds and instruments, at the moment a revolution of technical self- empowerment is taking place. With the help of micro-controllers, sensors and computer programming, everyone is given the opportunity to create objects and music machines according to their own ideas. Today, music does not necessarily have to be played on the piano or guitar, but can also be played on your own personal favourite object!
Jens Vetter is a freelance artist and musician, who focuses on using new technologies for tangible interaction, stage-based instruments and objects. As freelance artist and musician Jens Vetter's focus is on using new technologies for tangible interaction, instruments and objects. Since 2008 he has been working on the development of new interfaces for musical expression. After finishing his master's degree in Interface Cultures at University of Art and Design Linz with honors in 2018, he is currently working as Research Assistent and PhD candidate at Tangible Music Lab, Linz. Jens is also composing and performing in various music- and multi-media performance projects including Vetter_Huber and Bureaumaschine. The focus on interaction and sound is evident in all his works of art and exhibitions, including his exhibition at the Austrian Cultural Forum during this year's Digital Design Week London.
