Noticing sticky floors in your building?
It might surprise you to learn that this is most likely the result of cleaning the floors with a poorly diluted cleaning solution.
There is a method for removing sticky residue from floors, though your best option is to avoid leaving any residue at all.
If it’s still fresh, just rinse the sticky residue away with a mop or autoscrubber and plain, cool water.
If the residue is more severe and not responding to a mop or light scrubbing, then an autoscrubber with a more abrasive green or blue pad, along with plain, cool water, should do the trick.
You can avoid leaving sticky residue behind by using a neutral cleaner instead of all-purpose cleaner.
A neutral floor cleaner is far less likely to leave behind sticky residue. This is because it is less alkaline than other floor cleaners.
When properly diluted, neutral floor cleaner doesn’t leave any residue behind, and won’t attract soils, due to its neutral pH level.
