Study no. 2 starts to explore the fingerboard with a wider range of notes (the technical name for range is tessitura). Use this piece to work on more complex alternation with i and m.
The piece is fairly long, but don’t let this faze you. It is all in first position and if you set small goals to read through it step by step you will make it to the end.
The last three measures have contrapuntal writing, which means that there are different voices being played at the same time. Focus on making a clean sound between the thumb and fingers while making smooth movements in the left-hand. You can even start thinking about left hand preparation if you like!
