The left despises patriotism because it can be seen as a form of nationalism. Instead, they focus on and celebrate race, which ironically promotes racism and contradicts the color-blind American ideal that many aspire to. Western values, rooted in Judeo-Christian principles and reason, form the best foundation for a good society.
