Shadow health secretary Victoria Atkins has told Sky News she warned about an "impact across the workforce" of handing out "inflation-busting pay rises" to one part of the health sector.
It comes as nurses in England rejected the government's offer of a 5.5% pay rise after junior doctors voted to accept a pay offer worth an extra 22.3% on average over two years.
