PARIS' POORLY BUILT MULTI-HOUSING BITES THE DUST
Paris, France Natsot Duration: 1.00"
Two tower blocks, one 17 floors and the other 12 floors in height, have been demolished by controlled implosion as part of a renovation plan. The district of Stains, a Paris suburb, was developed between 1950 and 1976 as housing for the poor. People around the area were evacuated before the blast. The buildings were surrounded by police to prevent robberies during the time neighbours were evacuated from their own flats.
