Hello, I was hearing a "grumbling" grinding noise inside my car which sounded like it was coming from the center console/ transmission area. It was louder and did it more frequently when the engine was cold. It got quieter while the engine warmed up. I thought it may have been coming from my transmission or drive shaft components. Ended up being my exhaust rubbing on the center support. The noise transmitted up through the exhaust and tranny and to the shifter linkage and interior. I got lucky ;-)
