Shortly after the British evacuation from Dunkirk, Churchill rallied the country with a defiant speech to the House of Commons that was very much in the tone of Henry V. Churchill Archives Centre Director Allen Packwood takes a look at Churchill's draft copy of the speech, and explains how Churchill prepared his masterful oratory.
The draft speech and more objects from Churchill's life are on display now in "Churchill's Shakespeare," at the Folger through January 6, 2019. The exhibition explores Shakespeare's influence on British Prime Minister Winston Churchill's speeches, ideas, and life. Learn more at [ Ссылка ].
