What does it mean when an attorney says “I’ll fight the insurance company on your behalf”? In this video I discuss my efforts on behalf of a client from south Georgia I represented.
In this case, my client injured his neck and back while lifting a 200 lb. air conditioning unit. The posted panel doctor (referred by the insurance company) wrote in his medical report that my client’s neck pain and arm numbness was the result of pre-existing carpal tunnel syndrome and not the work accident. By stating that the neck injury did not arise from the work injury, the insurance company would not be responsible for neck surgery or rehabilitation and the settlement value of the case would be greatly reduced. #neckinjury
I used the claimant’s independent medical exam option to get a second opinion from a respected doctor who confirmed that, yes, the neck injury did arise from the work accident. This medical opinion clearly made more sense and I was prepared to present this issue to a workers’ compensation judge. #georgiaworkerscompensation
With solid medical evidence in my back pocket, I was able to negotiate a substantial settlement for my client. We did not back down when the insurance company’s doctor issued a nonsense diagnosis and my client ended up with a much more favorable result. #workinjury
