What can you do with an upper arm for 3pt hitch, a vice, ~$10 in quarters, some washers, electric fence wire, and a pair of pliers? SAFELY expand the tension spring on a mower deck. No brute force required and I believe it is the safest method.

For what it is worth, I got into this mess replacing the belt. I could find a way to route the belt without taking off the spring. There must be a way. I searched high and low across youtube’s, websites, operator manuals, and even the full service manual. If you know, please let me know!!
