It's Governor Andrew Cuomo's final full day in office, and he delivered a Farewell address to New Yorkers on Monday and portrayed himself as the victim of a "media frenzy."
In the pre-recorded speech, Cuomo repeated his contention that the Attorney General's report on his alleged sexual misconduct was politically motivated, that he would eventually be exonerated.
"The Attorney General's report was designed to be a political firecracker on an explosive topic," Cuomo said. "And it worked. There was a political and media stampede. But the truth will out in time. Of that I am confident."
Cuomo said his instinct is to fight. However, he said he is choosing to step down in the interest of the state. He said Monday allegations must still be "scrutinized and vetted."
