35 years ago the Berlin Wall fell, so I thought, it would be a good time to make a photowalk at the East Side Gallery to see if it is still worth it to visit. For more than 30 years, the famous Wall paintings such as the "Bruderkuss" with Brezhnev and Honecker or the "Trabant" have been attracting people from all over the world to the longest open-air gallery in the world at Mühlenstraße, one of the cities top spots.

🎨 Open Air Art Gallery

In the summer of 1990, 118 artists from 21 countries painted for the first time on the east side of the Berlin Wall, which had divided Berlin for 28 years. They created the famous East Side Gallery in Berlin, which is visited by more than 3 million people annually. Their works of art are messages for a united Europe from the upheaval of 1989/90 and memories of life in a divided Germany.
