In October 2013, LiveConnections presented our "World of Percussion" Bridge Session for adults and teens with cognitive disabilities, through a partnership with Art-Reach. Nearly 120 participants attended the session at our partner venue World Cafe Live and another 120 tuned in from their residential facilities via a live webcast.

The "World of Percussion" session presents nearly 100 percussion instruments and rhythms from around the world and features percussionists Doc Gibbs, Alex Shaw and Francois Zayas.

Founded in 2008, LiveConnections creates innovative, boundary-crossing music programming and education. Our Bridge Sessions engage urban youth and special needs populations in interactive performances that explore diverse musical styles and cultures and spark learning that's hands-on and alive. LiveStudio, our newest initiative, uses video technology to connect underserved audiences with great music.
