(Enable closed captions) NOT ONLY was it the first time the Hero Jero would be taking part in a proper 4x4 event along with other off-roaders, but it was the first time in a VERY long time that I'd taken part in one of these events!

About 30-years ago during my 4x4-mad days, camping was a regular occurrence for me, averaging one every month and some even lasted 3-4 days. That all stopped when I sold my Suzuki Jimny and Ford Courier, and despite being invited regularly to be a passenger, it just didn't feel right. If I wasn't driving, I wasn't going...

Well, seeing as how the Mitsu Pajero had already proven itself in a few off-road daytrips, it was time to take it to the next level. Many thanks to A Force 4x4 (Facebook: A Force 4x4) and my old buddy Edward Lim for allowing me to tag-along for this event!

So what's the difference between a 4x4 daytrip and one that lasts a couple of days (or more) you ask? Glad you did. It's not just about being able to fend for yourself insofar as the basic necessities are concerned (food, shelter, clothing) but also - and probably equally important - your vehicle has to be in absolutely tip-top, totally sorted condition, because a breakdown in the wilderness is the LAST thing you want.

It's not like the other time at Hulu Tamu where we could call a tow truck for the stricken Range Rover ([ Ссылка ]) no sir, this time around we'd be 55km in-land, 55km from the nearest asphalt road. It was daunting to say the least, and I did take the Jero over to Kenzone the day before for a full check, this was a MUST.

As u can see in the video, the Jero was very at home out the boonies, in fact it seemed to relish the rough conditions! Anyway, hope you enjoy the video as much as I did making it! Anyone with a 4x4 keen to go for the next off-road drive? ;)
