This is a 6.5 square foot rubber-valve style flopper stopper used aboard our 77-foot, 100 ton trawler. We've found it to be effective and less prone to sailing and other problems observed with the Magma.
But, it's heavy (20 pounds heavier than the Magma), awkward, and we'd really like more surface area to provide even better stabilization. We'd also like it to plunge more rapidly to avoid shock loading the system.
We like the quiet, electricity-free, hydraulic-free, simplicity of flopper stoppers compared to active alternatives, but there's plenty of room to improve existing systems.
