As he was composing this, Ben imagined that this was one of the tunes from a musical. A musical about our journey through this current pandemic and emerging victorious. Could certainly hear a singer singing this accompanied by an orchestra. A friend based in India - Lynette Sequeira heard this tune after Ben posted a solo piano version online last year and sent him a set of lyrics that fitted in perfectly with the theme of this tune. Jess Rogers certainly helped bring this song to life with her fantastic singing.

'Waiting for Spring' is one of the tunes on ‘The Music Never Stopped’ - an album of 12 tunes (10 instrumental and 2 vocal) composed by Ben Fernandez. These were inspired by emotions felt during the Covid-19 lockdown in New Zealand. Tunes. Each tune tells a story . This album is also a reflection of Ben’s personal journey as a musician . It has solo piano, ballads, jazz, latin, funk and elements of world music. The tunes were recorded live at the Kenneth Myers Centre, Auckland, New Zealand
