So, What is a B Category Seat?
Admission into Colleges on the basis of JEE mains rank or Twelfth marks can be taken by applying for B-category, Such seats are called B-category seats.


Admission Procedure for B-category seat.

There are two basic conditions for admission.
Students opting for these seats must withdraw their convenor quota seat.
Students need to apply separately for their desired colleges with a nominal fee of 2 to 3k.
A notification will be given by college management in the last week of July for the B-category in newspapers. It consists of two streams.1)JEE mains quota 2)NRI quota(Admission on basis of ipe marks). For the JEE main quota, there will be the same fee as that of the convener quota but one cannot get fee reimbursement. Coming to NRI quota Admissions will be given on basis of ipe marks. In jee the main quota there is an 85% local quota and 15% non-local quota. For the nonlocal quota, it is highly impossible to get admission into these colleges as there will be only 3 seats for every 18 seats.

Academic fees?
Candidates securing a seat through this category are ineligible for the fee reimbursement scheme.
Coming to the NRI quota one needs to pay 5000 dollars per year nearly 3.2 lakh. For Local students, The college fee under this quota is the same as the seat acquired under the convenor quota.


Finally, the Conclusion will be.

If you're having a good rank in JEE then obviously you'll be having a good state rank. If you don't have a good state rank and JEE Rank then please don't wait for a B-category seat because there is a very low probability of getting a seat. If you have a good rank in JEE then wait for B-category seats. Now for NRI Students, please don't choose any low college for a B-Category seat, because there is no much difference in fees. So choose a top college. At last a small warning for you. Waiting for a B-Category seat can be risky. Think accordingly.
