Dale Earnhardt Jr drove the red number 8 Budweiser car again, this time in a Late Model Race at Florence Motor Speedway in South Carolina.
He qualified, admittedly, terrible but drove his way thru the field to 2nd place before the halfway break. He held 2nd until about 30 laps to go when the fuel pump on his 8 car failed, sidelining Earnhardt and foiling his hopes to get to victory lane.
I talked to Jr. after the race and asked him about his plans to race the red 8 car again. He hopes this paint scheme is in the rotation for one of his 4 scheduled late model starts in 2025.
