This video series features the questions we have received about stretched and split earlobes. Stretched earlobes are increasingly common in today's society, therefore correction of stretches is also becoming more common.
We get loads of questions from patients, some of which we simply answer, but the most frequent, we like to turn into information videos for you, so we have answers to these questions within our Youtube channel and on our website which is instantly accessible.
People do ask what happens if they decide to stretch again following surgery. This does surprise us, as surely coming for surgery means you don't want stretched earlobes, but sometimes earlobe repair is because their earlobe has detached from the side of their face. So we can't confirm what definitely will happen if you re-stretch, but we warn you that the chances of something going wrong, due to the weak point of your earlobe (the scar). This may rupture when put under strain, so our advice is to avoid stretching after surgery. If you decide to stretch be very careful because otherwise we will probably be seeing you again for correction.
