Advent season is about the anticipation and preparation for Jesus' birth through stories from the Bible and discussions about how to embody these values in their lives today, while preparing for Christ’s return. Unlike happiness, which often comes and goes based on external factors, joy is rooted in something deeper. Jesus’ birth brought joy to the world because it ushered in hope and salvation. God’s love is unending in a way that our flesh-bound understanding might never truly comprehend. His love for all people is the blueprint for how we are called to live our lives. This is Advent love, “Not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins” (1 John 4:10).
