Since the contract update and once Yugalabs purchased cryptopunks from Larvalabs, v1 punks and its history kind of disappeared. The story most people know today starts with v2 cryptopunks. There’s little to no mention of v1s after the contract was fixed and minters received their v2s.

There’s no NFT more fitting, that embodies the spirit of web3, decentralization, high tech, fine art, and pushes against traditional mores more than v1 cryptopunks - the one project inspired by the culture of rejecting status quos, now in a position to be able to reject the status quo.

No matter the opinions of Larvalabs, the cryptopunk community, the brand lead of cryptopunks, or Yugalabs, or this video, V1s started and is part of the CryptoPunks story… and this history cannot be disputed or erased.

The blockchain is immutable.
