(25 Sep 1978) RR7839/A: MIDDLE EAST: AFTER CAMP DAVID
The 1978 Camp David summit produced agreement by Israel
and Egypt to sign a formal peace treaty within three
months, and an outline for a comprehensive peace settlement
with a role for Jordan and Palestinian representatives.
Syria, the PLO and other rejectionists are seeking the support
of other Arab governments to oppose the Camp David moves, and
much will depend on the reactions of Jordan and Saudi Arabia in
particular.
