"The Darien Gap is notoriously known as the world's deadliest jungle.
Straddling the border between Colombia and Panama, the Darién Gap presents a formidable challenge on one of the globe's most treacherous migration paths. This remote and roadless expanse encompasses over sixty miles of dense rainforest, steep mountains, and expansive swamps.

The area is rife with paramilitary factions and criminal gangs, preying on migrants who dare the crossing. Migrants face not only violence, extortion, and the threat of assault but also life-threatening natural hazards like venomous snake bites, harsh weather, and the risk of drowning.

Despite stern warnings from the Panamanian army about the dangers, my friend @baldandbankrupt and I chose to take the risk and cross it ourselves. Our goal was to witness firsthand the harrowing journey average Venezuelan migrants endure in pursuit of their American dream.
