Persea mite is a major pest of avocados, and can severely defoliate trees when its numbers are high. However, persea mite is not the only kind of mite in avocado—other pest mites and predatory mites may also be present. This video describes when and how to monitor for persea mite, how to distinguish between different pest mites and their damage, and how to distinguish between pest mites and predatory mites.
