The volcanic canary island of Lanzarote is an absolute gem. It's the fourth largest of the canary islands in Spain - which are all volcanic - and because it's not so big, it's quieter and feels a little bit less touristy. And yet there is SO much amazing stuff to see and do. And when I say amazing, I MEAN amazing. It's like nothing I've ever seen before. This video gives the 6 main reasons why you have to visit this island in the Canaries. You have to visit the Fire Mountains (Montanas del Fuego) in Timanfaya National Park and witness all the geysers and geothermic activity; you have to visit the cactus gardens; and then you have to go wine-tasting and enjoy a walk through the its volcanic vineyards as well as visit the water grotto in the volcanic lava tube of Jameos del Agua. And if you've time stop by the stunning, dramatic sights of Los Hervideros and el Golfo. The volcanic landscape everywhere is dramatic and colourful and amazing and other-worldly. You've got to see it to believe it. It really is quite something. It would be a shame to just lie back at your hotel and miss it all - though the brand new Hotel Fariones (in Puerto del Carmen) is a lovely place to lie back and do nothing in!
