On July 16, 2024, a quick-thinking victim and a tech-savvy tracker led Hot Springs police directly to an alleged thief, resulting in a swift arrest. The day began at the Arlington Resort Hotel and Spa, where a woman discovered her vehicle had been broken into sometime between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Among the stolen items were a MacBook laptop and an iPad.
As the woman reported the theft to the police, she noticed something unusual—her MacBook was "pinging" near the Garland County Library on Malvern Avenue. Officer 1st Class Brandon McAdoo immediately responded to the area, hoping to catch the thief red-handed.
