A new Jebena can't be used right away for coffee preparation. It first needs to be heated up - this procedure is called Jebena Mamuashet. Here are the steps:
1. Prepare some charcoal fire.
2. Heat each side of the Jebena till it turns red hot. (Bottom, the sides, the nose, the handle)
3. Once it's heated up, pour in a previously prepared coffee and let it boil. Occasionally, swirl the Jebena.
4. Remove from fire. Your Jebena is ready to use.
5. Feel free to prepare fresh coffee with your new Jebena. Enjoy :)
Make sure you prepare your coffee using only hot water for the first couple of times so that Jebena doesn't crack.
