Crude steel is produced by various process routes, and which use as feedstocks for molten pig iron, cold pig iron, directly reduced iron (DRI), or steel scrap. Molten pig iron is made in a blast furnace or by one of the newer smelting reduction processes.
An integrated iron and steel works comprise several separately identifiable processes, which are carried out as sequential operations on a single site, to convert iron ores and other raw materials into semi-finished steel products, such as slab, bloom, or billet and a variety of finished products, including plate, sections, bars, rods, hot and cold rolled sheets and coil, together with various types of coated flat products.
In this video, I'll explain the Billet Steel Process.
