Here's the story of that day:
This happened at 21st of May 2021 when the wind was strong in certain direction leading all the pollution from the volcano to the capital region (Reykjavík City). The volcano is located at Fagradalsfjall in Reykjanesskagi about 30 minute drive from the capital and the gasses coming from it are very toxic so people have to be very cautious and pay attention to the wind direction when walking in that area. Sometimes when the wind is strong in certain direction the toxic smoke can travel all the way into the city and that happened here and as can be seen in the video the atmosphere looks very dirty and polluted in every direction.
Now, I should have just stayed inside and closed all the windows until the wind direction had changed but instead I just got super curious and went for a drive towards our famous "Mount Esja" and after arriving there I wanted to see more so I went for a 3 hour late night hike up the mountain and that wasn't so smart because the morning after I felt like shit because of all the smoke I inhaled.. It felt just like a bad hangover and I've already felt that exact feeling the morning after I visited the volcano few weeks back so clearly it's not healthy staying for too long in that toxic atmosphere!

(One other thing worth mentioning is that there is another volcanic eruption going on at this very moment (started on August the 3rd 2022) and the plan is to go there and film the whole trip so stay tuned for that!)
