Transcript of this lesson:
Hello, my name is Steve; and I am your personal, and professional, American English consultant.
Today, I want to discuss with you a common business idiom that you may hear in a meeting, or in a conversation related to business.
The idiom we are going to discuss today is “On Hand”
On hand means that the person, or materials, is either in stock, readily available, or immediately present.
Here are a few examples of how this term may be used in a sentence:
We don’t have the money to hire new employees; we have to work with the people we have on hand.
The net worth of a company always takes into account their stock on hand.
Bob is always on hand to help his coworkers.
Try using this term in a conversation you have today.
The more you use it, the more comfortable you will become with it!
