A colony of swallow-tailed bee eaters spend every night in a tree in my back yard. I'm not sure why that particular tree, but it was a good opportunity to film nature in action. Bee eaters catch bees (surprise) in flight. They won't eat a bee that has landed. After they catch a bee, they whack it repeatedly on something nearby to get rid of the stinger and to squeeze out the venom. This video shows them doing that, and settling down for the night.
