Hello, my name is Lakeisha, I hope all is well with you and your family. Thank you for taking a moment to read our story.
In September 2022, we hit a financial rough patch and fell behind on rent. I felt it was God’s way of telling me our time there had come to an end. With faith, I packed up and left the home we’d known for 13 years, entering a wilderness season of testing, refining, etc., and for the past 13 months, my two children and I have been without a permanent place to call home. I'm feeling God is now leading me to humbly reach out and ask for help (which is something I prefer not to do, lol); however, I know that we are to have a humble heart, and most of the time God works through other people.
I’m a Christian content creator, and I work as a Walmart Spark delivery driver. While my YouTube channel is just starting to gain traction, it isn’t yet bringing in income. Even with my earnings from delivery driving, saving enough for housing has been tough, especially with costs for temporary stays, storage, and other essentials. Despite trying to stretch every dollar, we’ve had to spend over $25,000 on Airbnbs, hotels, and necessities just to get by. There were even nights we ended up sleeping in the car.
Recently, we received approval for a new home, and I am so grateful! However, I need to cover the full security deposit and first months rent by November 31st to move in. The balance due is $1750.
In efforts to save towards housing I had to let go of our Airbnb, and my children and I have been separated for 2 months. So, in faith and humility, I am reaching out to ask if you would consider helping us rebuild our home. Any amount, no matter how small, will bring us one step closer to stability and allow us to be together as a family once again.
