The special counsel team investigating the scandal surrounding President Park Geun-hye summoned her confidante Choi Soon-sil to the prosecutor’s office for further questioning on Saturday. Choi, who has been in custody since late October, faces a probe into her alleged involvement in influence-peddling and corruption. She is also accused of leaking secret government documents and meddling in state affairs. Choi denied the major charges against her in her first court appearance on Monday.
