1938 Rolls-Royce Phantom 3; three-position drophead coachwork by Roger Fry and Sons; 7.3 litre ohv aluminium alloy V12 engine with two coil, 2 12-cylinder distributors and 24 spark plugs.
Originally delivered as a chassis to France, where it was fitted with a Kellner saloon body, it has just been restored from a collection of parts, and made its debut at the Gingin British Car Day, Western Australia, May 20 2012.
The restored car retains its correct French lamps and metric instruments, and fittingly the Western Australian personal plate has the same registration number as worn by the car in France when it was new. Equally fitting, the stylish new coachwork is in the style of Franay, a premier French coachbuilder of the 30s.
