After a few weeks of stormy weather in the UK, the skies cleared for the weekend of the first Spring Steam Gala of the calendar year.
This was my first visit to an East Lancashire Railway Gala of any form, and this year their Spring Gala took by chance, a rather "Little and Large" theme. With guest locos being 46100 'Royal Scot' from Crewe LSL & Pannier 1501 from the Severn Valley Railway, along with Sentinel Shunter 'Ann' making it's first public appearance, there was quite the variety of locomotives in action across the event.
The home fleet comprising of L&Y A Class 52322, Bulleid Light Pacific 34092 'City of Wells' and 32 'Gothenburg' supported the three star locos on an intensive timetable, with express and local passenger trains running the length of the line.
The sun was in and out all day, but the winter conditions made for a great day of photography and enjoyment for all. Hope you enjoy!
