Alexandria Phan, MD, FACP, hematologist-medical oncologist at UT Health East Texas, was the featured guest for the Luncheon with the Experts series on October 29, 2020. Dr. Phan specializes in treating patients with cancers of the gastrointestinal system, cancer of unknown primary, neuroendocrine tumors of any primary site, GIST (gastrointestinal stromal tumor), thyroid and parathyroid cancers. “I believe that every patient’s cancer treatment should be personalized, and that cancer care should be based on scientific evidence and best practices,” says Dr. Phan. “I remind myself daily that what I do is a privilege.”
