At around 1:40 pm on November 22nd, Niagara police responded to a call following reports of a shooting.
On arrival, police located two adult males who had been shot.
One man was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The other man is currently being treated for life-threatening injuries at a hospital outside the region.
Niagara police are asking the public for help in identifying a suspect and an associate. They believe the shootings were targeted.
The suspect is described as a white man, about 50 years old, with a medium build and a salt-and-pepper goatee. He was wearing an Ecko brand jacket, blue jeans, and dark-colored running shoes. He was also carrying a dark-colored backpack. Police say the suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
His associate is described as a white man between the ages of 35 and 40, with a thin build, brown wavy hair, and a scruffy goatee. He was wearing a dark hooded bomber jacket, dark jeans, and dark running shoes.
There was also a heavy police presence outside a house near St. Paul and Churchill Streets Saturday afternoon for a reported standoff.
It’s believed the two scenes are connected, but Niagara police have not confirmed this and have not provided any updates on yesterday’s shooting.
The investigation is still ongoing.
