Another illegal miner has been rescued from a disused mineshaft in Langlaagte - Johannesburg. Officials say he has been rushed to hospital in a critical condition. An unknown number of illegal miners are believed have been underground since last Thursday.
Efforts to rescue them were suspended on Sunday after smoke was detected below the surface. Seven Zama Zama's have now been arrested & face charges relating to illegal mining. 800 illegal miners have been arrested this year alone.
