It's December, and much of the garden is down to the bare soil. Just below it, though, are some beautiful and tasty tubers that look like rubies as you unearth them - New Zealand yams. This is the time of year to harvest them, and I share some tips for growing them, which will start again in a few months. We also look at the rest of the vegetable garden, winter gardening jobs, and plans for next year.
