South Africa's urban areas have been the traditional beneficiaries of South Africa's multi million rand tourism industry. Now, the department of Tourism wants Rural Communities to get a slice of that lucrative cake. The Rural Tourism Strategy was launched in the picturesque town of Wupperthal in the Western Cape. Wupperthal is home to the oldest shoe factory in South Africa.
