I am in love. 2020 YZ250FX. My friends, this is not a dirt bike. It is a rocket ship that opens a portal to a higher dimension. The only question is whether or not you have the guts to enter. This is how a high strung performance dirt bike is supposed to feel. It’s not perfect. I have a couple of legitimate gripes, that I’ll get into later, but I didn’t want to get off of the bike even though it was only 34 degrees yesterday. I rode it for about an hour and a half, mostly fast stuff, and it reminded me why I love dirt bikes. The KYB forks were AMAZING, right out of the box! Set it up in standard config per the manual and then after 15 min of riding, I softened the forks up 4 clicks, sped up fork rebound 1 click, softened the low speed on the shock with 2 clicks. Done. It was better balanced and gave me more confidence than I’ve had on just about any bike ever. This is not a review, it’s just my version of a standing ovation for what Yamaha was trying to do and NAILED it. They were not screwing around. I don’t like it. I freaking love it. More to come later. There are things I wish Yamaha would have done different, but I’m applauding what was done here.
