The United Nations human rights council has voted to appoint a special rapporteur on Afghanistan.
This decision was taken to probe allegations of violations by the Taliban and other actors in power. The vote concluded with 28 in favour and five against. China, Pakistan and Russia voted against the probe into Taliban leaders.
